Shenzhen is one of the easiest mainland China cities for Hong Kong families to explore, just 30 minutes from the border by MTR or high-speed rail. From world-class theme parks and interactive museums to mangrove nature reserves and electronics bazaars, the city offers an enormous range of family-friendly experiences at prices far lower than Hong Kong. Most attractions accept WeChat Pay and Alipay; Shenzhen Pass or a China visa is required for entry.
