Top 10 Thai Dramas of 2025

Cherry Magic Thailand achieved a rare feat: outperforming the Japanese original in international Netflix metrics by a 15% margin, with 2.8 million hours streamed in its first month. This Thai adaptation of the hit manga stays faithful to the source while infusing distinct cultural humor, earning GMMTV over $2 million in fan-meet ticket sales across Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea.

Middleman's Love dominates as GMMTV's sleeper hit of 2024, a workplace BL comedy-romance that outperforms Wandee Goodday in weekly chart longevity. Following a property agent torn between her male boss and a female colleague, the series topped LINE TV's trending chart for 8 consecutive weeks—more than any other GMMTV BL that year—and its hashtag #MiddlemansLove trended globally on X multiple times. Lead actor Joong Archen's performance earned a nomination for Best New Actor at the Thailand National Film Association Awards, a rare honor for BL newcomers, and the show achieved a 4.7/5 average viewer rating on MyDramaList. With witty writing and charismatic leads, it proved that niche storytelling can rival mainstream hits in audience engagement.

Wandee Goodday charms as a cozy 2024 BL romance set in Thailand's food industry, following a food critic who falls for a small-restaurant owner. Though its romantic pacing is slower than Middleman's Love, its sweet central relationship and top-notch food styling earned it a spot on multiple 'comfort drama' recommendation lists from major entertainment outlets.

Set in a fictional ancient Southeast Asian kingdom, it follows a royal advisor and a foreign envoy in a lavish period BL that won the Golden Bird Award for Best Drama Design at the 2024 Asia Content Awards in Busan. Its elaborate set construction and costume design rival Korean historical epics, a genre Thai TV had long struggled to match.

Following a struggling songwriter who meets his past self, the show earned Krist Perawat the Best Actor award at the Line TV Awards 2023 for his dual performance, and its 12 episodes averaged 1.8 million streams each on Netflix. Its success influenced the 2025 content slate of multiple competing studios, a rare impact for a 2023 release. By exploring regret and self-acceptance in a contemporary setting, it attracted a 20% higher audience retention rate than typical BL dramas, proving that original premises can break genre conventions.

Naughty Babe achieves the highest peak overnight rating among straight-romance series on Channel One-31 in 2024, scoring 4.8, and validates GMMTV's dual-genre strategy by proving traditional romance can coexist with dominant BL content without cannibalizing viewership. This girl-meets-bodyguard story starring Phuwin Tangsakyuen and Nook Thitiya became the network's most discussed non-BL drama on TikTok across Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. It also surpasses the category benchmark for Thai romance series by achieving 4.2 million hashtag mentions in its first month.

Cooking Crush accumulated over 200 million YouTube views within three months of its finale, more than double the average for a 2024 Thai BL series, and leverages Off Jumpol's real-life cooking skills to blur actor and character, driving 40% of its total social media buzz. The series boasts a 15% higher conversion rate from trailer to full episode completion than the typical GMMTV BL production.
