How we ranked this: The primary ranking is the IFPI Global Artist Chart for 2025, published in February 2026. IFPI measures an artist's or group's worldwide consumption across streaming, downloads and physical music formats and their entire catalogue. The comparison uses current IFPI rank as the decisive dimension, prior-year IFPI position as a secondary measure, and career start year as a small longevity factor. Scores are normalized from 0 to 10 relative to this 10-item set, with lower current and prior chart positions receiving higher scores. For Lady Gaga, whose prior-year field is listed as RE (2020) rather than a numeric position, the prior-rank score is treated as a neutral 5/10 because IFPI does not provide a numeric prior-year rank.
