Colonies of Benevolence are experimental 19th-century pauper colonies in Drenthe designed to alleviate urban poverty through agriculture, now recognized for their social innovation. This scale is cheaper per capita than the typical rival urban reform project of the era by 40%, and 30% larger in land area than #9 Ir. D.F.
