Khao Yai National Park

Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is just 2.5 hours from Bangkok, offering easy access to wild elephants and 350 bird species, including great hornbills. Spanning over 2,000 km², it is 15% larger than Doi Inthanon National Park, with extensive hiking trails through evergreen forests and grasslands. Night safaris reveal civets and porcupines, and the park records 1.2 million visitors yearly. Its proximity to the capital makes it more frequented than #2 Erawan National Park, yet it retains significant wildlife density for a park near a major city.
