Poppi

The category’s biggest commercial success and its biggest cautionary tale. PepsiCo closed a $1.95 billion acquisition of Poppi in May 2025 — and Poppi separately agreed to an $8.9 million settlement of a false-advertising class action alleging its gut-health marketing oversold what the fiber in a can could actually do. The company denied any and all alleged wrongdoing. It has since reformulated: cans now list 3 grams of prebiotic fiber, up from the 2 grams at the heart of that case, with 5 grams of sugar or less and 35 calories or less. Every can contains apple cider vinegar, which gives the flavors their sharp edge. Judged purely as a drink it holds up — Sporked rated the Raspberry Rose a perfect 10/10 — though The Daily Meal was cooler, placing it #7 of 8 and finding the citrus flavors “too much like sweet candy.” It earns second place on flavor and sheer availability, not on trust.
