Kurokawa Onsen offers the most immersive onsen-hopping experience in Japan, with an innovative wooden pass granting access to 26 open-air baths across multiple inns. This 1,300-yen system, called Nyuto Tegata, has been running since 1987 and remains 40% cheaper than purchasing individual bath tickets. Unlike Ginzan Onsen (#10) which relies on a single riverside row of ryokan, Kurokawa's sprawling village layout lets visitors explore diverse thermal waters with higher mineral density, averaging 48°C. Outperforms #10 with 68% more bathhouses open to non-guests.
