The Serengeti hosts the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth: the annual migration of 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras crossing the Mara River. Covering 14,763 sq km of pristine savannah, this UNESCO World Heritage Site protects the densest concentration of large predators in Africa, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Its predator density is twice that of #1 Yellowstone, which manages only a fraction of the lion population, and attracts 350,000 visitors yearly.
