Starlink Direct-to-Cell Global Launch

SpaceX's Starlink Direct-to-Cell service — enabling ordinary smartphones to connect to satellite internet without special hardware — is scheduled for full global commercial launch in 2026 after successful beta with T-Mobile in 2025. Initial speeds of 2-4 Mbps will expand to 10 Mbps with second-generation V3 satellites, eliminating dead zones for 4 billion people currently outside cellular coverage areas.
