Imbi Market, operating since the 1960s in a multi-story complex near Bukit Bintang, is Kuala Lumpur's most historically significant hawker centre and a window into everyday urban Malay-Chinese life. Its Hokkien mee, pan mee, wan tan mee, and curry laksa feed generations of locals each morning, with the Hokkien mee costing RM 8.00, which is 10% higher than the average KL price but justified by double the pork lard portion.
