Dhayah Fort (Ras Al Khaimah)
Dhayah Fort, built on a 200-meter volcanic plug in Wadi Dhayah, is the only hilltop fortification remaining in the UAE and the site of the final battle against the British East India Company expedition of 1820. The climb requires ascending 150 steep steps, which rewards visitors with panoramic views of the Hajar Mountains that justify every effort. Historical records show it withstood a 10-day siege before falling, a testament to its strategic strength.
