Double Seventh Festival (Qixi)

Double Seventh Festival (Qixi), the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day, celebrates the legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, two stars separated by the Milky Way who meet just once annually on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. With 300 million people participating in gift-giving and romantic activities, it attracts twice as many celebrants as Nadam Festival. Its historical origin dates back 2,000 years, making it 50% older than the typical Chinese romantic tradition.
