Myanmar-Thailand Earthquake (March 2025)

The magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck central Myanmar on March 28, 2025, was the deadliest in Southeast Asia in over two decades, killing over 3,000 people. The quake destroyed thousands of buildings in Mandalay and caused severe shaking felt 1,000 kilometers away in Bangkok, where several high-rise under construction collapsed. The event also caused $8 billion in estimated infrastructure damage.
