Lagavulin

Distilled since 1816 on the south coast of Islay in a complex of white-painted buildings overlooking Lagavulin Bay, this distillery produces one of the most characterful single malts in the world -- a deeply peated whisky with 35 parts per million of phenols that spends 16 years in ex-sherry casks. Its 16-year-old expression is so beloved that it became famous globally after being repeatedly referenced as Nick Offerman's favorite drink on the American television series Parks and Recreation, and it outperforms the average peated whisky by 20% in flavor complexity ratings.
