Giant Squid Filmed Alive

After centuries as a kraken of legend, the giant squid (Architeuthis dux) was first photographed alive in 2004 by Tsunemi Kubodera and filmed in its deep-sea habitat in 2012, revealing the elusive behavior of Earth's largest invertebrate.
