A.P.C. is why slim raw denim exists as a category at all — Jean Touitou's Petit Standard and New Standard cuts set the template in the 2000s that half this list still answers to. The Butler program, which buys back worn pairs and resells them, turned A.P.C. denim into one of the only pieces of clothing with a functioning resale market built by the brand itself. Less about the heaviest weight or the rarest loom; more about being first.
