Queen Mary Hospital is the University of Hong Kong's teaching hospital and runs one of Hong Kong's largest and most comprehensive public paediatric departments. Sub-specialties include oncology, nephrology, cardiology, and endocrinology. The PICU is a regional referral centre. Public waiting times can be long for non-urgent cases, but subsidised fees (from HKD 120 specialist visit) make it invaluable for lower-income families.
