The Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel at Tempozan Harbour Village was the world's largest Ferris wheel when it opened in 1997 and remains one of the most beautiful, with 112 metres of height offering views of Osaka Bay, the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, and Kyoto's mountains. Tickets are 800 JPY per adult and 400 JPY for children (approx. 40-20 HKD), with four specially designated transparent gondolas in the rotation for the most dramatic experience. The wheel is illuminated at night with seasonal colour themes. Its location next to Kaiyukan Aquarium makes it the natural ending to an Aquarium day — families can time their Ferris wheel ride to catch the sunset over Osaka Bay. TripAdvisor reviewers with young children note the entirely enclosed, air-conditioned gondolas suit nervous riders.
