Haizhu Wetland Park (海珠湿地公园)

Haizhu Wetland Park (海珠湿地公园) is a 1,100-hectare urban wetland reserve on the southern edge of Guangzhou city centre, crisscrossed by traditional Cantonese fruit-orchard dykes (桑基鱼塘) and canals. Walking and cycling trails pass through mulberry orchards, lotus ponds, and reed beds teeming with egrets, kingfishers, and migratory ducks. Entry is free; bike hire is CNY 20/hour. Excellent for children interested in nature and ecology; easy to combine with Canton Tower (20-min walk away).
