The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall (陈家祠) is a masterpiece of Qing Dynasty Cantonese folk architecture, completed in 1894 and now a national protected monument. Its 19 buildings feature extraordinarily intricate roof ridge sculptures, carved stonework, painted screens, and ceramic friezes depicting scenes from Chinese mythology and history — all crafted by the finest artisans in the Pearl River Delta. It is the best single introduction to Cantonese architectural culture available in the Greater Bay Area. Admission is CNY 30 per adult; children under 1.2m enter free. TripAdvisor: 4.6/5. Allow 1.5-2 hours. Directly connected to Chen Clan Ancestral Hall Metro station.
