Tai Long Wan (Big Wave Bay, Sai Kung)

Tai Long Wan in Sai Kung East Country Park is arguably Hong Kong's most stunning beach, accessible via a 2-3 hour hike from Pak Tam Au or by a combination of bus and kayak. The crescent of unspoiled golden sand backed by hills is a revelation, but the hike is 20% longer than the circular trail on Tap Mun (Grass Island), making it best for families with older children (8+) due to the hiking distance; water sports (kayaking from HKD 200/person) available on the beach. Over 1,200 visitors enjoy the area on peak weekends.
