Data shows that 40% of medical schools now emphasize holistic review over MCAT scores, and a 2023 study found that MCAT scores explain less than 6% of variance in clinical performance. Compared to #10 IELTS, which at least tests a practical skill, the MCAT demands far more time and money for a credential with questionable predictive value.
