Homeopathy
Homeopathy fails where even placebo succeeds. A 2015 Australian National Health and Medical Research Council review of 225 studies found no reliable evidence that any homeopathic remedy works better than a sugar pill. This practice, invented by Samuel Hahnemann in 1796, dilutes substances so extremely that not a single molecule of the original remains—a process that makes it chemically identical to water. Concrete data from a 2005 Lancet meta-analysis showed no significant difference between homeopathy and placebo in 110 trials, cementing its status as pseudoscience's purest example.
