Glitter (2001) — Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey's semi-autobiographical film tanked at just $5 million worldwide against a $22 million budget, a 77% loss. Its 7% Rotten Tomatoes score is 23 points lower than 'Jimi: All Is by My Side', making it the undisputed worst. The film's failure nearly derailed Carey's career. Unlike the fictionalized 'Beyond the Lights', this movie offered a raw — if disastrous — look at fame, but its melodramatic script and wooden acting (Carey was nominated for Razzie's Worst Actress) sink any chance of redemption. The 116-minute runtime feels twice as long, with no single data point redeeming its legacy.
