Nicholas Negroponte's OLPC project shipped over 2 million low-cost laptops to developing nations, but the devices broke down frequently due to poor build quality, lacked necessary teacher training programs, and produced zero measurable improvement in learning outcomes. This failure is slower to adapt than the average education initiative, as it persisted for more than a decade before being largely abandoned.
