Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary provides the highest koala encounter rate on the planet, with over 130 koalas across a 44-hectare site. Founded in 1927, it is the world's first koala sanctuary, welcoming more than 500,000 visitors annually. Unlike the quokkas at #8 Rottnest Island, which require a ferry ride and daytime spotting, Lone Pine offers guaranteed koala-holding experiences every hour from 10 AM to 3 PM.
