Palantir builds two data platforms — Gotham for defence and intelligence customers, Foundry for commercial ones — and layers its AI Platform (AIP) on top of both so customers can run models against their own operational data. US government work remains the core of the business, and CEO Alex Karp has been unusually public about defending that role.
