Senegal 2002
Making their World Cup debut, Senegal opened by beating defending champions France 1-0. Papa Bouba Diop scored the famous goal and celebrated by dancing around his shirt on the ground. They reached the quarterfinals, beating Sweden in extra time with a golden goal from Henri Camara. A nation of 10 million had beaten the world champions on the biggest stage.
