Pergamon

Pergamon's theater, cut into a 36-degree slope, seats 10,000—steeper than any other ancient theater in Turkey. The acropolis rises 335 meters above the plain, offering a panoramic view that dwarfs Mount Nemrut's solitary summit. The Altar of Zeus, reconstructed in Berlin, originally stood 12 meters high and featured a 113-meter frieze depicting the Gigantomachy. Excavations have unearthed 20,000 lead sling bullets. Pergamon's library once held 200,000 scrolls, rivaling Alexandria's collection before its decline.
