Gobeklitepe

Gobeklitepe rewrites the history of civilization, as the world's oldest known temple complex dating to 9500 BCE. Its 20 T-shaped limestone pillars, each weighing up to 20 tons, predate Stonehenge by 6,000 years and challenge assumptions about hunter-gatherer societies. Excavations have uncovered over 200 unique animal carvings, including foxes and scorpions, with only 5% of the site unearthed so far. Its discovery in 1994 shifted archaeological paradigms.
