Mariachi Cultural Tour

Guadalajara is the birthplace of mariachi music and the Plaza Garibaldi of the West, Plaza de los Mariachis near the Mercado San Juan de Dios, is where musicians gather nightly to perform for hire. The Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán — the world's most famous and decorated mariachi orchestra, which has recorded with Frank Sinatra and Plácido Domingo — rehearses in Guadalajara and occasionally performs public concerts.
