Yang Chuan-kwang
Yang Chuan-kwang, the 'Iron Man of Asia,' became the first Asian to win an Olympic decathlon medal with silver at the 1960 Rome Games, scoring 8,334 points—just 58 shy of gold. Unlike Hsieh Su-wei, who specializes in doubles, Yang mastered ten disciplines, a feat still ranking among the top decathletes of all time. He held the Asian decathlon record for 20 years.
