Yushan (Jade Mountain)

Yushan, standing at 3,952 m, is Northeast Asia's tallest peak and the ultimate bucket-list summit for hikers. Over 100,000 climbers attempt it annually, drawn by its commanding views and the iconic sunrise above the clouds. The main trail is well-maintained but steep, requiring a quota permit months in advance. Towering nearly 800 m above runner-up Xueshan, Yushan offers a sense of scale unmatched on the island.
