Xueshan (Snow Mountain)
Taiwan's second-highest peak, Xueshan (3,886 m), rewards hikers with a pristine cirque and expansive alpine meadows. The trail sees 40% fewer visitors than Yushan's main route, providing a more solitary experience. Its summit climb is technically easier than Yushan's, with a gentler gradient, but the final push through black slate is unforgettable. Snow dusts the peak from December to March, adding a rare alpine character.
