Wuling Pass
At 3,275 meters, Wuling Pass is the highest paved road in Taiwan and a rite of passage for cyclists. With an average gradient of 8%, the 87-kilometer climb from Hualien demands 3,800 meters of elevation gain. This route outperforms Shifen–Pingxi Rail Trail in both difficulty and altitude, offering unmatched summit views at the crown of the island.
