Gervasio Deferr

Gervasio Deferr dominated the vault with consecutive Olympic golds at Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, plus bronze at Beijing 2008. His 2003 world championship title made him the only Spanish gymnast to win both Olympic and world golds on the same apparatus. Deferr's explosive vaults scored an average 9.75 in his peak years, 0.2 points higher than the typical rival.
