Home to Picasso's monumental Guernica, a 26-foot-wide anti-war icon, Museo Reina Sofía holds Spain's most important modern and contemporary art collection, featuring 21,000 works. It draws 1.4 million visitors annually, 30% fewer than #1 Prado, but excels in 20th-century masterpieces with Dalí and Miró exhibits that are 40% more extensive than the typical rival. A 2019 expansion added 2,500 square meters of gallery space.
