Toledo

Toledo offers the deepest historical density among Spanish destinations, with a UNESCO World Heritage designation awarded in 1986. Known as the 'City of Three Cultures,' its medieval old town preserves Christian, Muslim, and Jewish quarters that coexisted for centuries. As the birthplace of El Greco, it houses over 14 of his masterpieces, including the iconic 'The Burial of the Count of Orgaz' in Santo Tomé church.
