State Hermitage Museum

Occupying a complex of six historic buildings along the Palace Embankment of the Neva River, the centerpiece is the Winter Palace, the official residence of the Russian tsars built between 1754 and 1762 by architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. The Hermitage is a federal state property.
