Greece surpassed 33 million tourists in 2024 with Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, and Crete topping European beach destination rankings. In 2025 the Greek government invested in promoting mainland destinations like Meteora, the Peloponnese, and Epirus to distribute tourism beyond saturated islands. Greece's golden visa also attracts long-stay visitors.
