A 2022 study found that 82% of all-inclusive guests consumed only resort-prepared 'Mexican' food that was, on average, 40% more expensive than local street tacos. Only 12% of travelers in a recent poll rated Cancún as a 'culturally enriching' trip, highlighting its failure to deliver genuine local interaction.
