Guy Ritchie is the most overrated British director of his generation: his signature hyperkinetic style worked twice, then stalled. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch earned $28 million combined on a $3 million budget, but his subsequent studio efforts reveal a filmmaker unable to adapt. The live-action Aladdin grossed over $1 billion yet is critically derided, while King Arthur: Legend of the Sword lost nearly $150 million.
