Xerox PARC
Established in 1970, Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center invented the graphical user interface, the computer mouse, Ethernet networking, the laser printer, and object-oriented programming — technologies that collectively define modern computing. Steve Jobs famously visited in 1979 and commercialised the GUI concept into the Macintosh, acknowledging PARC as the origin point of the personal computer era.
