Citizenfour

Citizenfour is the only documentary to capture a mass surveillance leak in real time, winning the 2015 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature after Laura Poitras filmed Edward Snowden's disclosures. The film directly contributed to legislative reforms in five countries. Created under government surveillance, it achieved a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score while fundamentally changing public understanding of state surveillance.
