Angel Falls holds the world's highest uninterrupted plunge at 979 meters, dropping from Auyán-tepui in Canaima National Park. A 2023 LiDAR survey confirmed this height, which is over 90 meters higher than the second-highest continuous drop, Tugela Falls. The water atomizes into mist before reaching the base, creating a ghostly effect unseen elsewhere on this list. At 1.5 times the height of Victoria Falls (#3), it is also the tallest waterfall in South America, though its volume is dwarfed by Niagara Falls (#4), which processes 2,800 cubic meters per second.
