The most photographed beach on Earth. 65-million-year-old pink granite boulders on white sand.
Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue Island is arguably the most photographed beach in the world β and justifiably so. Ancient granite boulders, sculpted by 65 million years of erosion into smooth pink-orange forms, sit directly on a shore of powdery white sand bathed in water so shallow it glows green-gold. The beach is accessible only through the L'Union Estate, a former coconut plantation, and the calm lagoon created by an offshore reef makes it suitable for snorkelling year-round. Visit October through April for the finest conditions.
