George Town's urban art programme is the most comprehensive in Southeast Asia — over 100 murals and iron wire sculptures spread across the UNESCO heritage zone, initiated by Ernest Zacharevic's five 2012 children's murals and expanded by dozens of subsequent artists into a permanent open-air gallery that transforms a heritage walk into an interactive art experience. The "Brother and Sister on a Swing" and "Trishaw Uncle" works are among the most photographed public artworks in Asia.
