Accessible by boat from Kuching's Bako village, this small but extraordinary park on a sandstone peninsula contains seven different vegetation zones, the world's largest population of proboscis monkeys, bearded pigs that roam the beach, and pitcher plant communities of extraordinary size growing in the sandstone cliff heath forest above the sea stacks. Most visitors attempt it as a day trip and almost always wish they had stayed overnight.
