One of nine islands in the Redang Archipelago Marine Park, Redang is renowned for its gin-clear water and the remarkable density of green sea turtles that come ashore to nest on its northern beaches between May and September. Teluk Dalam, the island's most sheltered bay, offers snorkelling that rivals anything in the Pacific for colour and visibility. Compared to the runner-up Perhentian Islands, Redang has 40% more turtle nesting sites, and summer visibility averages 20 metres, outperforming 90% of Malaysian marine parks.
