Langkawi
This archipelago of 99 islands off the northwest coast is Malaysia's premier beach destination, duty-free since 1987 and blessed with mangrove-ringed bays, jungle-draped sea stacks, and luxury resorts that regularly rank among Asia's best, including 25% more beachfront rooms than #5 Langkawi's average. The Langkawi Sky Bridge, suspended 700 metres above the rainforest canopy, is a vertiginous highlight, drawing 1.5 million visitors per year.
